Message w attachment stuck in outbox after actually sent

Very new to Emclient and I am finding that messages with an attachment are getting stuck in the Outbox and appearing to have not been sent when in fact they have. Originally thought it was related to large file size but Gary sorted me on that front.
Using Gmail and I can see the messages by checking Gmail directly.
It seems that this issue has been flagged before, (Feb '16)
but am using latest model (8.0.3385 (83a873c))
Is there a fix? Thanks

Hi @geobos

I’ve seen your previous problem and agree with @gary.
However, as you apparently still have an issue:
Is the file you are sending as an attachment compressed?
What is the specification (processor, Ram, etc) of your system?
What is your connection speed?
What anti-virus program are you using?

Files not compressed. Tested by sending to another account in same system with several files - MP4 and PDF - small PDF no problem; 9Mb an issue.
Arrives at recipient OK but does not leave outbox and ‘Attempt to connect failed’ message appears!
System: AMD Ryzen 7 3700U, 12GB RAM, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD
Connection: Ping 5ms, DL 44Mbps, UL 36Mbps
anti-virus: AVG Internet Security Ver: 20.8.3147

Looks like I’ll have to try another client.

Same problem here. A short video, large MS Word, document, etc. My Outbox shows it as not having been sent, but the intended recipient gets several copies.

Now finding some disappear from outbox, not in sent folder on PC but in sent folder in gmail.

Have about had it with emclient.

In eM Client, go to Menu > Operations and look for SMTP errors in the Log tab.

Here 'tis after attempting send from ‘George’ to ‘Joy’

BTW the message has also appeared in MY inbox whilst still in the outbox and received by recipient.

Goodbye eMClient!! Hello Thunderbird.

Hi @geobos

Sorry it took so long to get back.
I am surprised at your connection speed figures as there is so little difference between DL & UL and your Ping is faster than I have ever seen, how did you get them, and who is your ISP? I have a slightly higher spec machine (Xeon W-10885M vPro with 64Gb DDR4 2933MHz RAM), but not that different

These speed tests were run with Ookla
WiFi: Average connection with Grupo MasMovil in Sevilla is:
Ping 21ms, DL 510.79Mbps, UL 73.58Mbps
Ethernet: Average connection with Comvive in Madrid is:
Ping 12ms, DL 983.27Mbps, UL 153.72Mbps

I show these only to illustrate the massive difference between UL & DL

Anyway getting back to your problem, two things:
First, AVG/AVAST (same company) does cause problems, we would never use it and insist that, if installed it is removed, on all of our client company machines and that includes the personal machines that may be used by employees from their homes - we do not approve of their business methods in the way that they collect browsing details.
Second, there is a ‘handshake problem’ that is causing your issues, not eMC.

Finally I have run some tests sending several files of different types, varying in size between 5Mb & 95Mb, plain and compressed with no errors or failures.

Good Luck with Thunderbird

¡Saludos desde la soleada España!

Skybat

[email protected]

Thanks Skybat. Tests with Ookla. Using Telstra in Melbourne Australia.
Today P7ms, DL45.6, UL 38.

I am happy with AVG using DuckDuckGo browser. Have no issues with Tbird at present - forwarding various files without a hiccup! Hence, why the issue with eMC alone!
The ‘handshake’ must have established to send the message-yes? Thus the issue is in dealing with the final response. (Way out of my depth here).
Thank you again for your interest. I note that I am not alone in this matter - jkoplen reports the same.

By the way, I am told we should uninstall 2020 as it has a virus (-: Keep safe. Cheers geobos.
