When I open a new message it says: The message wasn’t downloaded because you’re not connected to the server. This happens each time and I have to close the message and then open it again. How can I avoid this? I have a fibre connection always on to the internet. Thank you

This happens on both my accounts wich are both with Plus Net.com
It even happens on a test message from your diagnostic box.

I have the same problem on all of my accounts. Most are IMAP accounts. one is from gmail, one is from icloud, one is a private server.
Ok, most of my email come from the private server, but every email I’ve seen has worked that way.
one item to note which might be related. A number of my accounts show up twice in the ‘from’ drop down list when composing. If I reply to someone, my signature isn’t attached, if I go select the correct ‘from’ account, I get the signature. It’s like the system is using some hidden account
I did get all of my setting from importing from outlook

are the accounts shown as duplicate in the account list or just in the drop down menu when composing a new mail? You can remove any duplicate accounts in Tools > Accounts. Or check if some if the accounts arent set as a possible Alias in another account (Aliases are found in the General tab of each account in the Accounts window).
