Message disappears before my eyes as I'm typing it

The title of this topic says it all–or most of it. I have no idea what generated the error. I had just finished a message–one that took me a long time to write–and I was positioning the cursor to correct a misspelled word when the draft disappeared. It’s not in either Drafts, Trash, or Junk E-mail, and a universal search of my emails did not uncover it. I guess there’s no way to get the email back–please tell me if there is!–but I would get some satisfaction in knowing how it happened, and even more satisfaction if there is a way to prevent it happening again.

Using latest version? I ask because a lot of times they release new versions with the informative description “A bunch of bug fixes” or “stability fixes” or “Several bug fixes” so perhaps this problem you are having was previously reported by others

I nearly always install a new version when I hear about it. Probably a case of “magic fingers.”

@RonWhite Yes sounds like some sort of accidental press of specific keys triggering the auto delete of the entire email / message. I cannot replicate that, so suggest to (auto save) regularly when you have typed alot. If you have Windows EM Client press “Ctrl & S” keys to force a save in drafts.

You can set periodic automatic SAVE, when creating email
Go to Settings > Mail > Compose > Modify 2nd option to reflect frequency)
