I can no longer get em client to show my emails as it seems to have got stuck on a contacts page. I can still send.

how exactly are you stuck? Does the rest of the left hand menu not work or just the Mail item? Are you getting any errors?

it needed a click on the right hand button to restore the input page, a friend found this out
