Here we go:
Since some time now the Junk Email function seems out of control.
Many good emails including my co workers ones end up in Junk Email.
They are NOT junk/spam on my server. No.
I can click in the menu move to inbox, remove blacklisted email/domain many times, it does not change the behaviour. Like this has no function at all.
Please help, this is highly frustrating and time consuming. 20-30% of my daily good emails go into junk.
This really depends on what is moving the messages to Junk/spam, how you stop it.
Normally, it is your server, so you will need to login to their webmail interface, select the message in spam, and mark it as not spam. Some providers have an option to whitelist senders so check on that also. Thereafter the server should always leave messages from that sender in the Inbox.
But it can also be caused by eM Client moving the messages if you have previously blacklisted the sender or their domain. If that is the case, go to Menu > Settings > Mail > Blacklist > Manage Blacklist. See if the sender’s address or domain is in the list and remove it.
I log into the server every week.
I mark good emails not spam and whitelist them if any as a routine.
I also did now for testing whitelist emails which are not in spam. Whitelist emails in the inbox which end up in eM Client spam.
No change, like 50% of my good emails end up in EM spam. Emails I receive since years, even from my colleagues.
As for the eM Client blacklisting: I do not blacklist my colleagues, banks, customers, suppliers in etc. EM client. No previously, not now and I will not in the future.
I tried a few times this function with real spam but I do this on the server having them deleted there.
I have tried so many times whitelist, move to inbox etc.
I am out of ideas. I have 4 email IDs and with each I have to go to spam to get half of my good emails out of the spam folder.
It seems random, spam is in my inbox as well as good email. And spam and good ones in the spam folder.
What is the purpose of the function
-move to inbox and remove blacklisted email/domain?
It maybe only works for blacklisted messages?
It does not seem to have any function trying to stop good emails ending up in spam (which not have been blacklisted).
I am trying now to create rules -always move messages from …sender to… inbox.
I hope that workaround works.
hi
did you received any feedback? i have the same issue..
What is the purpose of the function

That’s correct it only works for blacklist messages.
Its designed where you have either inadvertently or previously added a senders email address or domain to the blacklist and want to then allways have that senders email in your Inbox.
However if your remove it from your blacklist or that senders email address or domain is not in the blacklist and it’s still going to the Junkmail folder, then either you have a Rule setup in eM Client Locally automatically moving it to the Junkmail folder, or your server is automatically moving it.
So if that senders email address or domain “is not in the blacklist”, then go to “Menu / Rules (Pc) or “Menu / Tools / Rules” (Mac)” and “dblclick all the rules” to check that sender is not in there.
Note: If you have eM Client up to V9 the blacklist is in Rules. If you have V10 the blacklist is via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Blacklist and Whitelist” / Manage Blacklist at the bottom.
Also click the dropdown at the top of rules on the right of Local Rules to see if you have any Server Rules setup.
Note:- Some server side rules “don’t all show in eM Client depending on the type of server”, so if your server is not showing in the dropdown check for server rules online in your mailbox.
Now if there is no Local rules or Server side rules automatically moving that senders email to the Junkmail folder, then “your online mail box automatically spam filtering must be doing it”, in which case you need to “mark it as not junk” in your mailbox Junkmail folder online as @Gary advised above in his post so your online mailbox then learns for future.
If you have already marked that senders email as not junk online in your mailbox “and it’s still automatically going to the Junkmail folder”, then contact your mailbox technical support online for help and let them know that is not working.
I am trying now to create rules -always move messages from …sender to… inbox.
You carn’t create automatic rules to go to the Inbox from other folders. Rules only automatically apply on incoming mail arriving in your Inbox.
OMG - I agree…This is an issue I am having where it’s sending my own gmail emails to junk, despite the address being in a rule to keep it in the INBOX AND it being in my contact lists. What gives? How in the world does this even happen? And NO, it isn’t a blacklisted email address. We need EMClient to create a NOT JUNK button like my womderful old PostBox email client had from day 1.
I have the same issue and 1. It ISN NOT coming from my server - I have checked with them. 2. This is NOT a blacklisted email address, it’s my own gmail address that I sometimes send email to my main server address. This only started happening on the last upgrade. THIS IS AN EM CLIENT issue for sure. So, what is needed, really needed, is a feature that easily allows us to select an email and mark it NOT JUNK just as every other email client, Outlook and Gmail also have.
