Make columns auto-resize with a double-click

I tried double-clicking a column header divider to make the column width auto-size to the contents, but it didn’t. This is true for the Mail and Contacts default views, I haven’t tried it elsewhere.

In other apps, I find this a better way of resizing columns than dragging the divider manually. I always try double-clicking the divider first, then adjust it afterwards.

To reproduce:

  1. Open eM Client in the Mail view
  2. Hover over a column header divider, e.g. the right-hand edge of the Received column header.
  3. The pointer will change to a Horizontal Resize shape.
  4. Double click.
  5. Nothing happens.

What I expect to happen:

  1. Now open your Documents folder in Explorer and change it to Details view.
  2. Hover over a column header divider, e.g. the right-hand edge of the Name column.
  3. The pointer will change to a Column Resize shape (note this is different to the eM Client behavior in step 3 above)
  4. Double click
  5. The column resizes to fit the contents.

See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libra… for examples of the pointer shapes described above.

Thanks for extensive description of your suggestion. I added it to our feature requests list (for graphical interface) and we will consider it. It looks useful.
