Basically, nothing works for me with this. I’m looking at a mail list four days old (it worked for a day). It’s incredibly slow to do anything and hangs, stops, gives close-or-wait messages regularly. And it seems to be perpetually trying to categorize folders from mailboxes with only ten mails. it’s not loading any new mail to any of my accounts either. What to do? Can I downgrade?

Mail clients can behave like that if you have eg: other programs running in the background like Optionally installed Firewalls, Security programs, Optionally installed Antivirus program, VPNs etc. Sometimes they can slow or interfere with mail.
So if you have anything like that installed other than what comes default with your OS, try completely disabling those to test. Also make sure you have the latest V10 Beta 2 just released.
Apart from that, “it could be OS related” or “hardware related” depending on your current computer specs and internet connection speed. eM Client V10 Beta 2 does work fine for me on Win 10 & 11 and Mac Ventura and Sonoma.

Yes you can go back to V9.2 for Pc or Mac. The database is not compatible, so if you uninstall V10 “delete the current database”. Then download the latest V9.2 from the release history page and reinstall.
Once installed if you have been backing up eM Client prior to installing V10, when you first open V9.2, “Skip the setup wizard” and restore your eM Client backup via “Menu / File / Restore”. If you don’t have any backups, then setup as new.
Will send the specs to the email. But FYI for other users, it started working as soon as I turned off the categories setting. That was causing it to hang, lose emails - a lot of problems. Not sure why. When I turned it back on - it seemed to work. Will come back if it starts breaking again.
Hi -that failed again. As soon as I shut down and reloaded later, it stopped. Turning off categories again restored functioning.
