Mail from ebay is empty

Translation by Google Translate:
After placing an order on eBay, I receive status messages about the progress of the transport of the package that has been sent.
However, emClient only shows the subject, sender and recipient of the email. The text of the email only shows: “Dear XY,”
All other email programs that I normally use (Apple Mail on the iPhone, Spark on the iPad) display this email correctly.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with emClient? (Sender is not on the block list).

It could be the reply from eBay is an image (it looks like text but really is an image). If you have disabled “download images” then you might need to click on “Download pictures”.

At the top of the message body:

I did indeed click on that, but emClient begins to do something and at the end it is displayed the same as before (no pictures)
Very strange, because that happens only with emails that are sent from [email protected].
All other emails from other senders that i receive are displayed normally.

Go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Privacy” and check what you have selected to Display from your senders. You can set to display from “Safe Senders”, or Display content from people in your contact list" etc as per the below V10 screenshot.

See eM Client help documentation link below on External Content in Privacy.

For a test, click on the option “Display unsafe content in all messages” and see if that eBay sender email then displays ?

Ok then put your Privacy settings back how they were.

That sounds like then it’s could be possibly a eg: non standard HTML type email.

Then try “right clicking in the body of the email” and click “Format / Plain Text” on the dropdown menu and see if that displays the eBay email ?

Done and the result is that a bit more text can be seen:
Text that’s now displayed is:
“Ihre Bestellung hat einen neuen Status erhalten
Dear XYZ,”
[German sentence means: “Your order has received a new status”]
but nothing more
(on all other programms that i tried the email is displayed correctly: e.g. Apple Mail (iPhone), Thunderbird (PC), Spark (iPad) and even all Browsers (PC) that i tried - just for information, if that could be relevant: email was sent to a gmail-Account)

That email would then need to be investigated to see why it wont display in HTML format.

So if you have a current active eM Client Pro or Personal version, first go to “Menu / File / Export” and select “Export to .eml files” as per screenshot below and save that in a folder on your hard-disk.

Then go to the VIP Support page and login and lodge a support ticket and “attach that .eml file” to have that email investigated.

I would not be happy to have to do that because this email contains personal information.

Unfortunately that would be the only way to see whats wrong. The code needs to be inspected.
