Mail detail toolbar - Read icon not updating

Hi,

On the tablet version of the mobile client, the Read icon is not updating after it is tapped both in portrait and landscape views - it is fine on my mobile.

Is that the “Mark as Read” icon ?

Also what version of the tablet app are u running ?

Yes, it is the ‘Mark as read’ icon which on the Android phone version correctly shows the read status, but on the Android tablet version it doesn’t.

eMclient version - 9.3.6041 (2aac939)
Android version - 13 (security update 5/10/23)
Tablet - OnePlus Pad OPD2203 running Oxygen 13.1

Ok so is it that when you press mark as read on the tablet, the small orange unread dot “in the body of the email” and “in the subject doesn’t go away” ? Also is the subject still bold ?

Also “if you don’t press mark as read manually”, and click on a subject and wait a bit (as per the app settings / mail / read section to mark messages read after x seconds), “does the message automatically change by itself to read” after a few seconds or so ? Or does that also not work.

Lastly does it make any difference if you change the tablet app appearance to dark instead of light ?

Hi,

Sorry it isn’t the dot that is the problem, that seems to update correctly, it is the icon on the toolbar above the body text of the email (in both portrait & landscape mode) that isn’t correctly updating. This is the same in both light, dark and automatic modes. Note that moving between emails correctly updates the tool bar icon, but tapping the icon doesn’t then update the icon to the emails state.

Ah ok so its “the actual toolbar icon that is not changing on the tablet”. Do you have both “Mark as read icon” enabled in the Toolbars “Multi Select Mode” app settings and “Main Detail Toolbar” app settings ?

Ah ok. so definitely sounds like a bug only with the Android tablet version, as “with those same settings when I tested that on my iOS tablet version”, that same icon changes ok on the toolbar.

Hopefully a fix in the next Android tablet update.
