macOS emClient no route to host

Hi,

I’ve recently upgraded to the new macos and the new emclient. I have the following situation for both IMAP and SMTP:

Connect:

  1. via VPN to my office using emClient: all works
  2. without VPN at my office using emClient: both do not work
  3. via VPN to my office using native Apple Mail: all works
  4. without VPN at my office using native Apple Mail: all works

Situation #1, #3 and #4 are correct. Situation #2 is a bug somewhere. When I check the IMAP log files, it says:

“17:04:38.281|020| 01: Connecting to mailer.re-lion.com:143
17:04:38.282|020| 01: Connection 1 was closed, deliberate = False”

SMTP log says:

“No route to host [::ffff:10.38.0.11]:25” but i can ping the IP address using iTerm.

I’m out of ideas.

17:04:38.281|020| 01: Connecting to mailer.re-lion.com:143
17:04:38.282|020| 01: Connection 1 was closed, deliberate = False”

SMTP log says:
“No route to host [::ffff:10.38.0.11]:25” but i can ping the IP address using iTerm.

Looks like something is either blocking the connection to eM Client, or there is a setup problem in eM Client that might need eg: different mail server settings than with Apple Mail.

Suggest to first “completely disable your VPN for testing purposes”. Also if you have any other optionally installed Firewall / Security programs or optionally installed Antivirus program, other than what comes default with the OS, completely disable those as well for testing purposes.

Also update what your IMAP and SMTP Mail “Server address, Port and Security policy” is, and “who your mail server provider / host” is, so we can then see if there is any special configuration needed for your specific mail server.
