I tried the registry edit, ie:
creating DWORD UseAirSyncSendMail set to 0 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eM Client
and then reset emclient.
And switched off air sync as per instructions.
But as I had removed emclient from MS permissions in privacy, it is now no longer sending or recieving emails and I can’t figure out how to re-enable permissions for emclient in MS. it doesn’t give me an option to add anything.
So I’m now worse off than when I started as I cant send or receive emails!
Not sure if anyone will see this as it keeps going to pending, even though my account is no longer in new status?
If you removed permissions (OAuth) and eM Client did not ask again for it on next start automatically, then the easiest way will be to just add the account as a new one. The registry fix to use SMTP will stay in place even with new account.
If I remove the account, will that then delete associated data?
I was hoping to go into account settings and edit, but can’t see the facility to do this.
Can see IMAP and SMTP settings nothing for password etc and logon informaiton?
When OAuth is used, then eM Client does not have any access to your password, the login is done through the OAuth token that the server generates for eM Client to use, so you cannot change the login details manually.
Removing an account from eM Client will remove the data for that account from eM Client. Your folders and messages are synced with the server with IMAP protocol, so once you add the account again, they will be synchronized back from the server again.
