Loss of all data. Microsoft?

I have just signed up to a Microsoft package in order to get 1 tb of storage
Somewhere in the process of uploading all my files to One Drive I seem to have lost all data in eM Client. Please help!

Where do you normally store your eM Client database? It looks like you may have changed it from the default location.
When you use OneDrive backup it shifts all your document/desktop/pictures etc. files to the cloud and the file paths change on your computer to the OneDrive folder.
If your eM Client database was in the default location (C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client), using OneDrive backup should not affect it.
But, if you have your eM Client folder in your Documents or Desktop folder, your eM Client data will be intact, but the path will now be different, so it is inaccessible to eM Client with your current database location setting.
The other issue is that your eM Client database may now mainly reside in the cloud (Microsoft call this On demand). To make the database accessible to eM Client on your hard drive, open File Explorer, find your eM Client database folder in OneDrive, right-click on the folder, then select Make available offline. Wait for the
image
icon to appear (that means that has been downloaded and is stored on your hard drive)
Then in eM Client, go to Settings > Storage and change the location of the database.

Thanks for this. In the end I managed to restore from recent backup. Is it worth my still doing what you suggest or should I ‘leave well alone’. Many thanks, Bruce
