Russel - No not able to control it. I even changed my mouse as I thought maybe it was that - it wasn’t. It’s just so annoying as I feel pressured into dealing with my emails sooner than I would like!
OK I have now figured out the issue. Let’s say you receive an email. If you reply to it, the original email leaves the INBOX and gets placed on the end of the REPLY. I would prefer for all emails coming in to remain in the INBOX until I decide to Delete them. Is there a way to change the configuration so this happens? Thanks!
My experience is primarily with Gmail and to a lesser extent, Exchange. This is not how it works with these providers. The received email always stays in the inbox and the sent (reply) item stays in sent. In conversation mode, they will both appear in the reading pane as part of the conversation. maybe this is the confusion.
I agree - all emails coming into the INBOX should remain there - until I delete them, no matter what. It is very confusing to me that this is not what is happening in emclient (BTW I never mentioned I am running the FREE version - could this be the problem?)
the free version is identical to the Pro version except for the number of email accounts you can have (2 with free, unlimited with Pro).
eM Client does not move anything (unless you tell it to-- have you set up any rules?), it merely synchronizes with the server. So maybe your provider is doing this and you need to configure the behavior through their web client?
Lets say thats the Problem Peter, how do i put away or turn off that conversation mode, as you all say if i dont wanna see an email i deleted, i dont want to be moved by any means…
Have any of you figured it yet??
The conversation mode does not move emails, it just displays all emails in the conversation, regardless of “folder”. To turn conversation mode off, go to menu/view/conversations/disable conversations
Thanks Jay, you’re right buy my problem is still there. As an example i lost all my emails from january 6th until the 13th, theyre just not there, but if i search them on the bar they will appear…
That is probably because they have lost their inbox flag and are still in All Mail (you’re on Gmail, right?). You can always put them back in the inbox, but I’m not sure how the inbox flag was deleted-- archiving is the most common way. Archiving simply deletes the inbox flag.
Jay, I believe you have solved my problem! I had never heard of “Conversation Mode”, but when I disabled it my INBOX looks much more like I expect it to. I knew it had to be something simple. Thanks to all in this Forum!
