Local Rules are making mails unread when EmClient started although mail is readed on server

Local Rules are making mails unread when EmClient started on desktop although mail is readed on server by mobil app.

Is there any way to fix it?

If email has already been read on the server by another device, and then eM Client Desktop is opened and it then changes status to unread after its received in your Inbox, then “sounds like your Local Rule is changing the status after it arrives”.

What’s the Local rule you have setup ?. Paste a screenshot of the Local Rule you have setup in this thread and we might then be able to see why it’s doing it. Blank out anything personal.

Also is this a POP, IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud account?

Also what version of eM Client you are using?

Hi, it is happening exactly how you are saying. Email has been read on the server by another device, and then eM Client Desktop is opened and rule has started. Email is being unread and moves to related folder which i made in rule.

Account is Exchange and Em Client version is : 10.3.2412 (260ec1e)

Rule screen shot is attached.

Ok well that rule doesn’t appear to have any change status to unread in it that I can see.

What happens if you disable that rule for a test ?

Does the email then stay in your eM Client Inbox as read?

I closed the rule and EmClient as well. I sent test email and i have read in mobile app. When i opened EmClient, mail is showing as unread although i read it on mobile app.

If you have disabled the Local rule in eM Client desktop “and it’s still showing as Unread in eM Client when it’s received” but is read on the mobile app, then your mobile app “might not be synching the read status to your mail box at the server end”.

So for a test, “close eM Client” and then after you receive an email on your mobile app and read the email, then “go online to your webmail” and see if that same email is showing read ? Or if it’s still shows as unread ?

If that same email “then also shows as read in your online mailbox”, then if you have a current active paid Pro or Personal version, suggest to next contact eM Client official support for further help, via going to VIP support page and logging in and lodging a support ticket to troubleshoot eM Client desktop.

However if the same email “is still showing as Unread in your mailbox online” then there might be something wrong with either the mobile app that might need an uninstall or reinstall, or could be something on the mobile resident stopping the read status synching to your online mailbox.

Hi, if i read email on mobile or webmail then i open EmClient, then local rule is not working, i mean that emails not moving to folder if the email is read on server.

Yes if the email has already been read on the server from another device and you open eM Client desktop, then the rule wont automatically run and move to folder, and you have to right click and manually run the rule.

From what Ive heard, possibly in a future there will be a rules update that will allow it to still automatically run and move to folder “even if it’s already been read on the server end”.

There is a total rework / redo of Rules in eM Client 11 so it might be part of that. Stay tuned.
