List of features/improvement

I’m testing eM Client. It’s a good client but there are several things that would improve eM experience a lot.
Here are my thoughts:

  • Rules, need improvement (see below).

  • Unread msg on the Mail Pane: when a folder is collapsed, there’s no indication whether there are unread msg or not.

  • Unread Folder: it’s confusing as draft emails appear in this folder as well.

  • Send & Receive, would be way better to have separate buttons.

  • Empting trash may take a while.

  • Once application is closed, eM Client icon remains in the tray bar.

  • Reply, need an option to reply below the quote.

  • An option to remove Holidays from a Calendar.

  • Rules:

  • Why is not possible to easily rename Rules name?

  • Right now is not possible to use boolean rules as: “if msg is from X OR sent to Y then…” (I’ve already posted about this request and I know is not planned, just wanted to add it for the sake of completeness)

  • Need a quicker way to tweak existing rules, like TB Quick Filters Extension? For instance, it would be handy if user could just move a message to a folder and eM Client would ask to create a new filter or merge with an existing one.

  • Why is not possible to rename/modify addresses from with in Searched Address dialog box? Right now if user wants to modify an address in the Address dialog box, he/she needs to remove the contact and add a new one.

  • What about a search funcion? Going through all the rules, if there are many, can be confusing and not easy to spot the one user is looking for.

  • Rule should also catch just part of the sender: not only “[email protected]”, but also “domain.com” (right now I’ve to use "@domain.com), and also just “sender”.

  • Right now is not possible to click outside of the Rules window: let’s say I want to copy an email address, if I’m editing a Rule I’ve first to close the Rule window, then copy it, then back to the Rule window.

    It is not currently planned to make any changes.

    This is not planned.

  • Unread Folder: it’s confusing as draft emails appear in this folder as well.
    This is something we think that should be get ridden of also.

  • Send & Receive, would be way better to have separate buttons.
    Send and receive has gray arrow near it which contains options exactly for your request.

  • Empting trash may take a while.
    This depends on how fast hdd you have and how much email you have in it.

  • Once application is closed, eM Client icon remains in the tray bar.
    Then it is not shutted down, but only minimized. You can alter this behaviour in Tools - Settings - general - general “minimize/close application to tray”

  • Reply, need an option to reply below the quote.
    I am am not sure if I understand what do you mean by this, could you provide further explanation?

  • An option to remove Holidays from a Calendar.
    Holidays (if you mean those from “import holidays” are just events, they are not tied together so there is currently no simple way how to make to get rid of them.
