So, I bought this email program to find out that the license I purchased is no longer valid, that there is a newer version which requires a new license, and If I wish to use my old license, which at the time of purchase then stated, “One Time Fee”, Now I need to either find an older version to download or purchase a one time fee for the newer version. My concern is that every time there is an upgraded version we need to purchase a new license. This can become costly.
“One time fee” means there’s no subscription - you pay a certain amount and that’s it. You have a lifetime license for that version of the software.
If you want lifetime upgrades, there’s a selection box for that right above the “Buy” button, as you can see in the screenshot below.
So, what you are doing is trickery, you are hoping people don’t check off upgrades, probably what I didn’t do, so now I have to pay for an upgrade. If this was legit then a one time fee would include upgrades without asking you to check it off. Answer me this, who would buy your app and not want upgrades?

If you originally purchased and installed eM Client from the website, “you can reinstall the same version as you had previously” via the release history page and insert your existing license and it should work fine. If you get any errors after inserting your license update this thread.
However “if you want to install a later version”, then as @Ideafix advised “unless at the time of your purchase you added the lifetime upgrade option” then you will only get the updates for the version you purchased and not future versions and updates. So all depends on what you purchased at the time. This has always been the case since eM Client started.
If you want to upgrade your existing purchased license to lifetime upgrades and then install the latest version 10, here is the link below.
“Purchase the Lifetime Upgrades for eM Client”
Something to note here… there are upgrades for the one-time fee current version… within that version. This vendor provide for 3 different options… 1) annual subscription, 2) one-time fee current version, and 3) one-time fee all future versions. They each have different price points…
key note is that you can only purchase lifetime upgrades if you have a one-time payment license key. subscriptions won’t work (or at least they shouldn’t)
