How can I get rid of the large coloured circles at the top of each email? points?
Also, I don’t need three lines per email! I only want 2 if a lot!
How can I adjust everything to be narrower and more space-efficient?
The surface is really beautiful and so many useful features - but that is really badly designed. I work with a 10" tablet and all my space is so precious! No space to waste for that fancy deco stuff.
You can change some of these settings in Menu > Settings > Mail > Read > Message list. The “coloured circles” are avatars. You can make them smaller, or disable them. The number of preview lines can also be set.
There is also a setting in Menu > Settings > Appearance > Lists > Row Dimensions. Look at Item lists row height for single line layouts and Item lists multiline line height for the default compact layout.
Another way to reduce the size is to click on a message in the list, then holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard, scroll the mouse wheel over the message list.
That option is not configurable, unless you change the Item Lists Font to a font that doesn’t have a Bold option. The one we use Segoe UI does have bold.
Ok worked all well with the adjustments of the middle column, these are really awesome features!
What a pity no bold is possible

Can I with one click change a whole inbox to “read”?

Two clicks. Right-click on the folder and choose Mark All Messages as Read.
You can remove the Subject column if you don’t want to see it. Right-click on the header row and choose Columns Configuration, then remove it from the right column.
