Hello, I’m very happy with eM Client. I just want to know if there’s anything I can do to make the software launch faster. In my case (Windows 11), it takes about 30 seconds for the main window to appear. I keep a lot of emails in the “local folders” section. Is this the cause?
That’s strange it’s taking 30 secs to load / open the gui. Mine only takes around 4-5 secs with 4 email accounts totally around 60,000 emails.
Could be you might have a eg: possible local database corruption in some messages causing the slow opening. Does it say database repairing on startup or anything like that ?
Also sometimes slow loading can be related to the computer speed and / or not enough ram or type of hard-disk like with older mechanical hard-disks.
What spec computer cpu / ram do you have, and what type of hard-disks are you running ?
Also what version of eM Client are you running ?
Lastly has this allways been like this, or only become slow to open recently?
Thank you for your reply. I will take the time to examine these different points and come back here.
Hello,
I’ve made progress. My version eM Client : 10.1.4588 (f11e2ab). The software tells me there are no updates available. I have the “free” version, with two accounts. The software launches at the same time as Windows 11 starts (about 30 seconds). But if I close it and then launch it again, it only takes 18 seconds. No error message at launch. My PC has an “old” processor: i7 870 (2010). RAM: 12GB. Windows 11 and eM Client are on an SSD. All is OK on my PC. I think I’ll leave it at that. Thanks again for helping me.

Ok so your computer specs seem pretty good.

If you have eM Client automatically loading on the boot of Windows, that could be why it’s alot slower than normal, as “other resident background programs and startup programs” plus the desktop shell is also loading at the same time.
Try disabling eM Client from automatically starting via “Menu / Settings” and then exit eM Client. Then reboot and then manually launch it “after everything loads” & see how long it takes.
Good explanation, thank you. Indeed, if I launch Windows and wait for everything to load and be stable (processor activity less than 3%), the software launches in 10/12 seconds! That’s good!
