I have had the unfortunate experience of being a part of many 30+ reply email threads this past year, some as many as 90+. Two major issues have surfaced:
-
Unfortunately eM Client has a really hard time even loading these emails… It can take a minute or more. It’s faster to open up Gmail and find and view the email there…
-
Apparently almost everyone else uses Outlook and complains that my replies mess up their threads. This has been going for months before anyone said anything about it but it really annoys a lot of people and some miscommunications which costed a lot of money have been partially attributed to the difficulty of following email threads… There are two issues: One is that Outlook starts new threads sometimes. I can’t tell if this is related to eM Client or just when someone adds/removes a recipient. The other is that eM Client replies seem to break the ability of Outlook to collapse the repeated part of the email. Here is how one technical user explained it:
When using Outlook, like we do at (redacted - 1200+ employee publicly traded company name), when we hit “reply all” and send an email, then it creates like a separate block that does not show all that transpired before it. Only what I said. I can click on earlier emails as well to see what was said just in, for example, redacted’s previous email without seeing the whole thread before that. But what I have noticed is that after a reply from your email they are no longer stacked in closeable blocks, but displayed in one long thread instead.
It would be awesome if eM Client could address these issues. I can’t stand using Outlook, but given it is the most popular email client ever, eM Client needs to be able to cooperate and keep up with it. I can’t have clients suffering because I use eM Client and it is not a valid excuse to say “my email client can’t load the emails”.
Thanks
