To generate issues and comments from emails, you’ll have to create a mail account for a POP or IMAP mail server that Jira can access. Jira periodically scans the new emails in that account, and it then creates issues and comments from your mails (via mail handlers).
So this is something you need to setup between your mail server and your Jira account. It is independent of whatever email application you use. Just send an email to that account from any email application, and Jira will pick it up.

I’ve been wanting this too—it would be great to link emails or contacts to specific Jira issues right from my inbox. Would make tracking tasks way easier.
I just add a note to the calendar event with the jira bug report description and include a link to the issue. That way I can quickly see what the meeting is about and jump straight into the ticket if I need to. It’s not a full integration, but it works well enough for tracking.
