I’ve started getting User / Password error however the settings are correct.
Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and make sure you have one of the following port/policy combinations. An incorrect pair can result in this error.
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
Port 25 = Use SSL/TLS if available
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available
Port 995 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 110 = Use SSL/TLS if available
If that still does not work, disable your anti-virus application and see if there is any difference.

I also got similar connection errors a few weeks ago: it was due to update of antivirus.
What are the symptoms of the error you have?
Hi, can’t receive or send emails. Error message states user name or password incorrect. They aren’t as they have been the same forever.
