Issues Trying to Connect to Gmail POP

When I try to setup POP gmail in emclient it fails.
But, I have no issues connecting to gmail using thunderbird. Why is this??
This issue is preventing me from using emclient until there is a fix.

Unfortunately you can no longer use POP3 with Gmail.

Gmail settings>Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab the setting says that POP is enabled.
In Thunderbird gmail account settings it is set to POP.

Am I missing something?

This is frustrating. Will I ever be able to use POP3 with Gmail and eM Client ?

eM Client no longer supports Gmail POP account setups as @Gary advised above and you need to add your Gmail account as an IMAP account setup via the automatic account wizard in eM Client. See eM Client with Google Workspace support page.

Note:- If other mail apps are still using legacy usernames and passwords to access POP Gmail accounts, Google advised they will also be disabling that permanently in September 2024.

Note:- if you don’t want to use Gmail as an IMAP account due to eg: you only have limited space in your online mailbox and you don’t want to pay for extra Gmail space, then eM Client has a feature called “Automatic Archiving” which can move emails older than x amount of days to a Local folder within eM Client.
