Issue with pdf attachments appearing as TXT files

this morning we are having issues with pdf files attachments being identified as TXT files.

I’m 99.99999% sure that it’s not the sending or Mailgun Email Server that is causing the issue. The above log shows that the two attachments on the Email Invoice-1363855.pdf and TermsAndConditions.pdf which I’ve highlighted are all OK :

  1. Works when the email is set to my email
  2. (prooving the sending Server & Mail Server are sending it all OK).
  3. Works fine when you email a 3rd Party Like Hotmail (more proof the email is sending all OK).
  4. Works fine when you look at the email via Webmail (Proving the Email is arriving to mail server all OK, so it’s not the Domain or Mail server).

The Issue is only when you open the email in the EM Client.

Adding a 3rd Party email (your hotmail account) to EM Client, and sending the Email there, WORKED (!?!?). The PDFs are there. (so general setting on EM Client is OK?)

This is where it gets odd… Forwarding the email from your EM Client Hotmail address to your EM Client beaconelectrical.co.uk address it removes the .pdf files and puts it as .txt but even weirder… you send it from the EM Client to the EM Client Hotmail account AND THE PDFs are back and working??
