I was just looking through some of the menu options in the version 8 beta (available for download from the Release History), and I noticed there is an option to do this in Menu > Edit > Empty All Trash Folders. Can’t recall if it was there in version 7.
Gary, the “empty Trash” option exists in v7 but I believe what many have been asking for, for years, is to make that option available in the customize option for the horizontal toolbar.
The horizontal tool bar relates specifically to the message preview pane, so it cannot be an option placed there.
But you are right, it was a menu option in version 7, I just did not see it.
