No, that is something else. The previous post means that when you are in the Unread folder and you read a message, it is not automatically cleared away. What @NJRonbo is asking about is when he is in All Inboxes, the messages are not automatically cleared from Unread.
@NJRonbo’s issue may be so low level database corruption. He can try closing eM Client and opening a Windows Command Prompt. Not a powershell, but a command prompt.
Not buying the application specifically because this feature is missing. All the explanation above about the cascading effect assume for some reason that the mark messages as read after X seconds option is on, which is not the case for me - I always use a hotkey to mark emails as read.
This hasn’t always been this way. I think they mucked something up.
If you are referring to "not having to click to another folder to clear the read messages in the favourites Unread global folder, eM Client hasn’t mucked up, and that has allways been the way to do.
As @Gary advised if eM Client automatically cleared the read messages after being read in the GUF, “it would be a cascade effect” where the next message would then be read and then automatically dissapear and so on.
So if you had a eg: long email you might not then get a change to read it all and it dissapears after whatever X time you set in Settings / Mail / Read, and then you have to go and find it again.
So that’s why you need to click out of the unread global folder to clear the read messages.
That may change one day, but that’s how it works for now.
That’s the way it worked for me but it doesn’t just remove them therer are limits to how long until an email is markred read.
What marked read limit ? You set that in Settings as to how long till it’s marked read.
If you are setting an X number and it’s not being read after that time then you might have an eg: eM Client “program installation problem” or “database problem” in which case I would lodge a support request via the VIP support page.
