Is the early access android app on the playstore safe, or a ripoff?

There’s an eponymous app on the Google playstore - 500 downloads, early access. Is this an official product or a scam?

The early release droid app in the Google Playstore is official, but bear in mind it’s like an Alpha / Early Beta release, so still in development.
