Is “MARKET GOONS” legitimate as support for EM Client? When I did a search for EM phone number, they popped up but had the appearance of being associated with EM Client, but now I don’t believe they are directly??

Official support for eM Client is only provided by us. Please see our website, where support options are offered from the menu along the top.

Well, technically anyone can offer you unofficial support, but you should be careful. Don’t let them install any software on your device and never give them remote access. Especially don’t give them any passwords or anything like that.
