I had a lot of problems with marking emails as spam. Even after marking them as spam, the same emails kept showing up in my inbox. It was a never-ending process.
I eventually developed my own program that detects spam before it is downloaded into eM Client and automatically moves it to the Trash folder. It also handles text snippets and other features perfectly well. Marking emails as spam afterwards works just fine too.
What really frustrates me is that something so simple doesn’t work properly as a standard feature in eM Client.
eM Client doesn’t have a built-in spam detection engine.
So if the move to junk and blacklist email address rule doesn’t work, or move to junk and blacklist domain rule doesn’t work, then you need to look at blocking those senders by eg: “words found in the header, subject or body” with a “Custom Rule” as sometimes spam senders are tricky with the way they send email to still get in your Inbox.

Apart from that most good mail servers have their own spam detection engine to filter out junk mail and automatically put it in your junk mail folder.
You can also normally setup “manual filtering on your server mailbox end” to block specific senders or domains etc. Your mail server technical support can help you with that if you need to.
something so simple doesn’t work properly as a standard feature in eM Client
Spam mail filtering and virus attachment scanning should be a simple standard feature of your email hosting provider, which means it is handled server side, not an email client standard feature. That way when you have multiple clients and webmail logging into a given account, the spam filtering and attachment scanning has already taken place. So, your frustration should be turned towards your email hosting provider, not eM Client.
