iPhone and iPad connect but not updating regularly

Hi

I use GMAIL account (IMAP)

I use em client on my windows laptop, iPhone and iPad (and occasionally via GMAILs web interface and the GMAIL app on iPhone and iPad when I have to if em client isn’t updating)

My issue that has started happening in the last few days is that when opening the em app on my iphone I just get the little organge bar going backwards and forwards about my inbox but it doesnt seem to be updating with new messages, or deleting ones I previously deleted

Same is true for my iPad

And then occasionally, it works

em client for windows is working fine (albeit a little slowly)

Hence I have to resort to using the gmail app or web interface which I really dont want to do

I dont know if this is an apple issue, an em client app issue, a profile issue on my iDevices, a server issue somewhere withing em servers or what. I dont think think its a google issue because when my iDevice isnt doing anythiing to update, should a new email arrive I do get a notification of it (I think from the GMAIL app) and I can hit the notification and it opens up gmail instantly

Any way to “reset” my connection other than deleting the app and re-installing?

Many thanks

Try first disabling data or wifi on your iPhone just incase it’s a data issue. Even try reboot your iPhone incase it’s a resident os problem.

Apart from that it could be a eg: local cache issue with your account in eM Client.

So try holding your finger on your Inbox or All Mail for a Gmail account “for a sec or so”, and then click Properties at the bottom. Then click the Repair option which will clear the acct cache.

If still the same problem, then you would either have to remove and readd the Gmail account or failing that uninstall and reinstall the app.

Thank you. I shall try those things.
