Intermittent problem with emclient connection iiNet

Hope someone can help… I use the free version of emclient with 2 email addresses. Over the last maybe 12 months, I have had various msgs from companies that do computer generated emails, sending me snail mail because their emails had failed to send. This appears to coincide with times when I have an error msg saying "email address: connection to email address has failed [pop3] " etc.
Over the last week we have changed from a slow internet speed to a much higher one i.e. ’ fixed wireless’ to ’ fibre to the premises’ resulting in a 10 fold speed increase.
Since then, we are having this same error crop up after every couple of refreshes. This is a problem of course because then no email gets through until I notice and clear it. Any suggestions please ?

Hey @weebee

First it is noe clear from your post if you are aware of
the following conditions of use with the Free version.

The Free license is only available for personal use.
Businesses and organizations need to get a Business
license to use eM Client.
Discounts are offered to schools and non-profits.

However, the first thing you should do is to check with your service
provider for any intermittent outages.

In the meantime please provide:

1./ The name of your service provider
2./ IMAP or POP3 email service (or both)
3./ Windows or Mac
4./ Version of your OS

Hi Skybat - yes I am aware of that condition and I am only using it for personal use. My service provider is More Telecom & had no problems and suggested I take it up with eM Client.
I use POP3 and SMTP on Windows v10 Home

Hey @skybat

My apologies - blame it on my terrible tech understanding.
Free eMC vers no is 10.4.4195
Windows 10 Home vers no is 22H2

POP3
Host mail.iinet.net.au
Port 110
Security Use STARTTLS always

SMTP
Host mail.iinet.net.au
Port 25
Seurity Use STARTTLS always

If you use the Incoming Port 110 and Outgoing Port 25 then
set the Security Policy to “Dont use secure connection” as they are not secure ports and see if that works.

If that then works, for eM Client V10 try the following Secure POP Ports

Incoming Server Port 995 and Security Policy "Use TLS on Special Port”
Outgoing Server Port 587 and Security Policy "Use STARTTLS (Always)”

Hi @cyberzork,
Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately no, it did not appear to have any effect, still getting intermittent error msgs with the Sec Pol changed to ‘Dont use secure connection’.
I also tried tried changing the ports as per yr suggestion, and that didn’t work either :sob:

I would next try with The Messaging Company server addresses instead of the iiNet server addresses, as iiNet (last owned by TPG) sold their mail service business and transferred to The Messaging Company hosted mailboxes in 2023.

So could be now you need to use their mail servers “with your iiNet full email address” and “iiNet password” with Port 995 and Port 587

Incoming Server pop.themessagingco.com.au

Port 995 and Security Policy "Use TLS on Special Port”

Outgoing Server smtp.themessagingco.com.au

Outgoing Server Port 587 and Security Policy "Use STARTTLS (Always)”
