I used to use the original eM client but had trouble with my provider, Virgin Media, and could not sign back in to eM. Have been using Thunderbird for a while but not as good as eM. Tried downloading new eM version but kept getting asked to prove identity by Microsoft and they will not accept whatever I put in. Driving me mad. I have a Lenovo all in one running W11 ( only 6 months old). Help please !!!

If you are adding your Microsoft email address via the automatic account wizard in eM Client, and you are getting asked to verify your identity, then you will need to contact Microsoft either via their community website or phone support who can advise you how to prove / verify your identity.
