IMAP SMTP stopped working

I am using eM Client 10.3.1503 (eb0592f). Some time ago, I configured an IMAP e-mail account and it was working fine. Today, it just stopped working. The error message says the server did not respond.
The webmail for the same account is working fine. I also set up the account in Outlook using the same server, port, security protocol and login and it works perfectly.
I would greatly appreciate any help to solve this issue!

Sometimes mail clients get blocked by eg: resident programs running in the background such as eg: optionally installed firewall security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns.

So if you have anything like that optionally installed “other than what comes default with your OS”, then try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.

Apart from that V10.3.1503 is an older version and might need an update or uninstalling and reinstalling.

So first click “check for update” in the menu.

If checking for update doesn’t find anything, then try uninstalling eM Client and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.

Then reinstall eM Client either from the release history page if you originally installed eM Client from there for Pc or Mac, or from the Windows Store if you originally installed eM Client from there and then reboot and see if that fixes it.

Lastly if uninstalling and reinstalling or updating eM Client makes no difference, then I would next go to “Menu / Accounts” and try removing and readding your IMAP account and see if that fixes it, as might be possibly corrupted in some way.

Note: If you do try removing and readding your IMAP account make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left.
