IMAP - server not responding

Hello
i can send emails but can’t receive or download my emails.
when i test my configuration i have an error : server not responding.
to connect to my email server i use must use a certificate. I configured the certificate for emails but i am not sure EM client is using it for IMAP, maybe just SMTP.
Help please.

the email certificates are completely unrelated to your server connection certificates.
Could you please go to Tools > Operations > Log tab next time the error appears? There might be more detailed information about your error. Please copy the whole content of this log.

could you try making an exception in your windows firewall and antivirus software and see if eM Client connects then?

i disabled the Firewall and antivirus and it still not working. Thunderbird works! 

the email server is on our own company server, it requires a client certificate to connect to IMAP with STARTTLS. how can i Tell eM client to use my certificate?

Having the same problem with both SMTP and IMAP. Worked fine (apart from hotmail calendar) for the last 2 weeks, and now server not responding. I know I’m a free licence customer and this is now my 2nd issue without a resolution, but I certainly won’t be buying a licence if Em Client can’t even connect and sync emails and calendars. Olivia, you have previously responded in both forums of my issue. Can you please help!
