IMAP folders Sent and Trash don't sync

I read this forum before posting but can’t remove a persistent problem reported by others.

Simply put, eM client adds Sent and Trash folders when my IMAP provider stores them as INBOX.Sent and INBOX.Trash. So, I have two folders for Sent and Trash, with the eM ones creating errors.

  • Trying to change my online settings to match eM Client generates the ‘Client tried to access nonexistent namespace’ message
  • Removing and restoring the account begins with one INBOX.Sent and one INBOX.Trash. As soon as I send or delete a message, eM Client creates its own Sent and Trash folders again, outside of the Inbox structure. Then it tells me I have an error.

Other community members have reported similar problems. I have recently used other clients (Bluemail, Mailspring, Mailbird) - none of which have this problem. So, what’s the solution? It seems specific to eM Client.
