I'm no longer getting my Hotmail.com into my eM Client program.

Hi Olivia,
as you adviced, I tried now all security settings (btw. when I changed the settings to ‘use SSL/TLS if available’, the prot number didn’t changed automatically, but I did so myself).
But none of the security settings make a difference, in all cases I got the same problem/error message for SMTP.

Concerning trying to set up my account as Exchange, i stil didn’t try to do so. But before doing so, I have the question if I have to delete the actual account first or if I should add the same account a second time as Exchange.

Hello Thomas,
you can set up the same account more times, so you don’t have to remove the previous setting to try the Exchange.

Hi Olivia,
I tried now to set up my account as Exchange, but I failed with it. During the process to obtain the server configuration records, the process failed with the message :
“The right settings couldn’t be obtained.Correct the Email-address or install the account manual.
The exchange server couldn’t be. You can enter the server address here manually.”
See the below picture.
As I said already before, up to now my account is still the old Outlook.com, so I guess that’s why this way still not work.
But again, I’m not a specialist for these things, I’m just a normal user needing your help with this.

Hi Olivia, I have just followed the same instructions that Thomas went through, and came to the same conclusion. It is still not working with outlook.com. Is there anything else possible to try or do we just have to wait until outlook upgrades or a newer version of eM Client is available? Many thanks, Lisa

if neither the automatic IMAP setup or manual Exchange setup work, I am afraid there is nothing else to do at this time but wait for Microsoft to migrate your outlook account to Exchnage.

there is 1 point I cannot understand.
Does - beside Lisa and me - any other user has this problem ?
And also in case it is only Lisa and me, there should be a reason why we have this problem, meaning that there must be something different in our configuration to the configurations of all other users. Do you have any clue what could be this configuration difference ? Or any idea how to find out about it ?
To be honest, in case I would be on your position, I would not accept it so easily that there is an existing configation or whatever else reason that makes my tool not working.
And beside that, do you know when the migration of Microsoft will be finished and it makes sense to deal with this issue again ?

I’ve noticed very few users with similar issue and not having a solution at hand does not mean that we haven’t been looking for a solution. I’m sorry if it seems that we are ignoring this issue.
If it’s not possible to connect to the server through any standard protocols, no fixes to eM client will make much difference - as with all server-side issues.
Microsoft claims to move all accounts moved by August. Unfortunately Microsoft is not very open about all the changes they make, so we try to adapt as fast as we can.

Hi,
yesterday morninh I recognised that Microsoft changed my hotmail account.
And after changing it in eMClient to an exchange account, eveything works again.
I can send mails again and alkso the synchronisation of my calendar works again. So from this side I’m now happy again with my EMClient.
But thee is one small thing what is not nice. May be it is just a wrong setting, but because I couldn’t find anything I would like to ask your support.
Every time when I send a mail, I see it TWICE in the send file even I send it only 1 time.
Do you have a reason and solution for this ?

Go to menu/tools/settings/mail/send and uncheck “Save copies of sent messages in” Sent" folder.
