This morning, eM Client stopped syncing with my iCloud calendar at the same time on two computers – one was Win10, the other Win7. Now, no calendar dates are shown from iCloud. It has been ~14 hours. iCloud is fine on iOS phone. What is the problem? Nothing similar has happened. Calendars were fine on both computers. Left room. Came back in 20 minutes. Nothing since then.
If the calendars just suddenly stopped synching on two different Windows computers “and you haven’t changed any settings on those computers” but you iCloud calendar is synching fine on your iphone, then “might be a resident background program blocking them” like a eg: Optional installed Firewall / Security program or Optional installed Antivirus program or VPN.
So if you have anything like that optionally installed other than what comes default with your OS, then try completely disabling those to test incase of any interference.
Now if you have nothing optionally installed like the above or disabling those made no difference, then could be a eg: physical IP address or your local ISP to Apple iCloud Connection issue. So try next powering off your computers and modem / router for eg: 2 mins and then power them all back on and see if that makes any difference.
Then if powering off everything and back on makes no difference then on one of the computers “click the dropdown on the right of Refresh” and click “Show Operations” and then click the “Log tab” and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread and we might then be able to see whats wrong. Blank out anything personal in the error messages.
Maybe related? iCloud had problems on various services
The errors emClient sent yesterday morning are not still available in the log, but I had many errors all saying that iCloud calendar did not sync. I did not save the specific error text.
I rebooted both computers and refreshed the router. No change. I have a fiber optic modem, but I did not restart it.
I did nothing with the computers yesterday morning. emClient calendars were working fine on both computers when I checked them, then when I returned in 20 minutes, iCloud calendar entries had disappeared on both with >12 error messages each. (MS365 entries and old iCloud entries are still there.)
ADDITIONAL TESTING NOTE: New entries today to either iCloud or Microsoft 365 calendar do sync. Also I can take existing calendar items in iCloud (on my iphone) and edit them, then the edited entry will appear in em Client; however, no calendar entries that I added to iCloud during about the last 1 month are still in my em calendar, but they are on my phone and in iCalendar viewed in a PC browser. Older-made iCloud calendar entries are still present in em Client.
I don’t want to check for every calendar entry on my phone and then edit each one to force a re-sync item-by-item.
Should I uninstall icloud.com calendar from emClient and reinstall on both computers?
Yes you could certainly try removing and readding your iCloud accounts. See the eM Client Apple iCloud setup info below.
“How to set up iCloud account in eM Client
Simply create an app-specific password just for eM Client. You can find instructions in the official Apple guide.”
“Step-by-step instructions on iCloud account setup in eM Client can be also found on our web page eM Client with iCloud”
I’ve been using app-specific passwords w/ emC for 3 years. I revoked the old passwords and authenticated new ones in emC, but no change in function. However, when I deleted the icloud account from emC and reinstalled from scratch, syncing now works. I still find it strange that this happened simultaneously on 2 computers. I have emC on a third compter at a different location and ISP. When I check it, I am curious if icloud will be working. Anyway, thanks for the help.
