I want all of my calendar events to sync with my icoud account but want all of my event invites to come from a non icloud mail account

Hi,
this might be possible if you create a shared calendar on iCloud and share it with the non-icloud account. You can create account in the shared calendar from the other account and invite hosts, that way all the invites should come from the second account and all the event’s would be stored in the iCloud calendar.
