I cannot make eM Client the Default Email program

When I try to make eM Client the Default email program I get an error saying:
Unable to set eM Client as the default client: Access to the Regsitry Key "KEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Mailto’ is denied

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3.

I have tried using a Windows Vista box and made the program default with out any problems. I have checked the registry (on the Vista box) and found the “mailto” line. I thought maybe I could copy that entry into the XP box. However, the file is missing form my installation.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks

Do you have administrator rights on that account?

Yes, I have administrator privleges.

This worked for me:
Go into your registry and go to the Mailto key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ then right click on the key and check your permissions make sure they are set to Administrator and the Allow all box is checked.

You should be able to change to Default now.

I have XP and went into Internet Explorer-Tools-Internet Options and changed the preference settings there. EM Client now works as the default email program.
