I cannot copy error message

I can’t use any format to paste my error message, but I have logs for two dates from my error log that appear to relate to this message.

I would normally use a screenshot but can’t find it on my computer. Is it out of date?
Can someone help me, please? This is a reasonably new computer: Lenovo.

I would then be able to copy my error log.
Thank you in advance.

You should be able to just copy and paste the eM Client errors from the operations log, straight into this forum thread.

Or alt copy and paste the eM Client error message logs into eg: Notepad in Windows or Text Mate on Mac, and then copy and paste that into this forum thread.

Hello Cyberzork
I managed to get the error message. The action to do this is new to me.
I spent a lot of time emailing you about this and the logs are too long. I was about to send it.

[Google Contacts] Deleting items in folder ‘[email protected]/Other Contacts’ failed due to the following error: Parameter validation failed for “resourceName” : The value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$.

HOWEVER
THIS SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD ON 5TH AUGUST 2024 WHICH you instructed me how to solve it… I couldn’t solve the problem then, although I understood what had happened. It seems to be the same problem. The heading was

This was seven months ago and I haven’t had any other messages like this. Can you please confirm if it is the same problem? I will try and follow the original answer. My memory was not good so maybe the tech fixed it. I have lapses in my memory.
I now have only two accounts. Both Gmail.

By the way, the above email message did not come up today.

Kind regards

The value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$

To fix the value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$ error in eM Client, “Go to eM Client Contacts section”, and then “Right click” on “Contacts” directly under your Gmail account and click “Properties” at the bottom. Then click the “Repair” tab at the top, and finally click “Repair”. The repair can take a little while as it clears the local cache.

If that still doesn’t fix it, go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Gmail account via the “automatic account wizard” at the top.

Note: If you do remove and readd your account, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason.

(Why you get that error in eM Client)

The Google Contacts Other folder is “Read Only” so you can only delete contacts in there online in your Google Contacts.

Other Google Contacts are email address’s “that were only typed in the To: line” and have never been added as a Google Contact. So they all end up in Other contacts as are unknown.

Open your web browser and go to the following Google Contacts webpage. https://contacts.google.com . Then press the “menu on the left” & you can select Other contacts and delete any you don’t want.

What I suggest to do with those Gmail Other contacts (if you maybe want to keep those contacts for future) rather than deleting them, is to “close eM Client” and then “go online to your Google Contacts” and drag them from “Other Contacts” to your main Google “Contacts”.

Or alternatively “on the far right of Other contacts online”, hover your mouse and click the “Save Contact” icon to add / move them to your main Google Contacts as in the example below
