How to view and convert .msg files?

I have many emails with attachments saved as .msg files.
I would like to be able to open and view those and the attachments.
Also would like to be able to convert them to a compatible format.

Any suggestions of how to do these things will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
EML format is standard format for originally saving emails and is supported by all email clients except Outlook (even Outlook Express supports EML).
MSG is proprietary format of Microsoft Outlook which is used only by Outlook itself and is not properly documented. Therefore it is hard to implement it. We don’t plan to support it in the near future.

There are lot of MSG to EML format convertors available (e.g. put “msg2eml download” to google). Basically Outlook 2010 should support EML format. For using it with Outlook 2003 and 2007 this article may be useful: http://www.msoutlook.info/question/354 . You will just do some registry changes so EML files will be opened.
