I’ll try to explain this the best I can.
I work for a company and we all use the same E-mail address, I would like to be able to use this software to manage my email (delete, reply to, organize) but not have any affect on the original server (comcast).
Example: I delete a batch of emails in eM Client i dont want them to delete on Comcast.net i pretty much want to leave that untouched but remove those emails from view on just my eM Client.
I’m the only one at work using the software, it just seemed like it would make my life easier.
Thanks, hope you guys can help!
Hello Steven,
if your mail server supports POP protocol then this might solve your issue.
Be careful though - POP protocol usually by default Downloads your messages locally BUT removes them from the server unless set otherwise on your server or in your mail client.
In eM Client, the default POP setting will be to Leave a copy on the server for 7 days. You can uncheck this option and instead only leave the option to ‘Leave a copy of messages on the server’.
To set up a POP account in eM Client go to Tools>Accounts and under the New Account window choose Mail>Other.
Manually set up your mail server credentials as described here - POP is your incoming server, SMTP outgoing.
After you set up this account, go to its POP tab in the Tools>Accounts window and uncheck all the options but “Leave a copy of messages on the server”.
Regards,
Olivia
