I’VE FOUND A “WORK AROUND” FOR THIS… If you go into Settings > General >> CHECK “Show Local Filters” THEN SELECT “Show on Start up: GLOBAL INBOX”
Now when I close the program (with all the folders collapsed) they stay collapsed when I open the program again. Soo much nicer!!!

4 votes in 6 years does not indicate a popular idea, so maybe doubtful that eM Client will even consider it.
Even in emclient 8 it doesn’t work. That’s ridiculous.
Unfortunately that doesn’t help when you switch to another folder.
I cannot believe that such a basic feature doesn’t work.
It doesn’t work because it is not a feature.
So why is collapsing a feature, when it doesn’t stay collapsed??
