How to disable IMAP sync (uploading messages to server)?

I just exported approx 14,000 messages out of Opera and imported them into eM Client.
With Opera I used POP.
With eM Client I am now using IMAP, so none of these messages are on the server.
eM Client is attempting to sync (upload all 14,000 messages) to the server. My connection does not seem to be very fast, so this will probably take all night and then some.
I’m not sure I want all those messages uploaded to the server. I’m already having enough problems with godaddy’s service. Is there a way to temporarily disable the sync?

Hi,
you could use local folders for these messages, to show local folder go to Tools > Settings > General, and check “Show local folders”.
You should see local folders just as if it was another mail account.

Import your messages there and use IMAP from now on. That’s probably the only way how to achieve this.
