How to deal with hotmail errors User is authenticated but not connected

I am constantly getting hotmail errors, please assist as I’ve seen no solutions listed.

This is hotmail error as follows:

[IMAP] Known Microsoft Exchange server error “User is authenticated but not connected.” has been encountered on IMAP connection. This issue is temporary and should be automatically resolved by the server. If not, please contact your mail provider.

Yes usually “that’s a Microsoft Server error” and not eM Client related and generally should fix itself. See eM Client support page on that subject.

You can also try going to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Hotmail account via the automatic account wizard at the top & see if that fixes it.

You can also try going into your Microsoft account online and remove / revoke the eM Client app and then close and reopen eM Client which will then prompt you to re-alllow eM Client access to your Microsoft account..

“How to remove / revoke the eM Client app for Hotmail, Live & Outlook.com” accounts.

Go to your Microsoft account privacy settings.

https://account.microsoft.com/account/privacy

Then Select “Privacy” or “Privacy dashboard”

Navigate to “Apps and services”

You will then see “Third-party apps” connected to your account.

Then find eM Client app and click “Edit” or “Remove these permissions” to revoke its access.

Apart from that if still an issue, i would report that error to Microsoft either via their Community Forum or Phone support if you have a paid MS account

But in my case, the issue doesn’t seem to be related to the eM Client setup. The account was already removed and re-added, and the permissions were also refreshed from the Microsoft account settings, yet the error still appears. Because of that, it looks more like a Microsoft IMAP/Exchange server issue rather than something caused by the client configuration
