I selected my local calendar folder when prompted for a default meeting request folder. I have both my google and local calendar available. I wanted to select my google calendar but did not realize this until after I made my selection. How do I change to my gmail calendar so that when I accept meeting requests, it populates the correct calendar?
I’m not sure if I completely understand, but if you want to move an event from one calendar to another you should be able to do that by opening the event and select the desired calendar under General tab in the Event details window?
If this is not what you were asking can you please specify the issue?
Let me give you a better description. I am using google for my calendar and my contacts. So on my calendar tab I have my gmail account calendar and my local calendar. When I received my first invitation to a meeting and pressed the accept button, the system popped up a notice window that said that there was not a default folder selected to place or save the meeting. (or something to that affect). I selected the ok button (I think that was the button) and it brought up a windows explorer-like window to select from the folders list. I selected the local folder and hit ok. After remembering that the calendar i use was my google calendar, i wanted to change the default so that accepted events go to the google calendar, not the local calendar, but I can not figure out how to change this. Hopefully this helps explain it better.
try going to Tools > Accounts > The account you want to select the folder for > Calendar (or Calendar and Contacts) tab and there should be “Default Folders” section.
Try changing it there, I hope that’s it.
Actually the location of the default folders is under the general tab for the default account. In my case, I had an email account from the local ISP (IMAP account) and then used gmail for calendar and contacts. I set the IMAP account as the default by pressing the Set Default Account Button below the list of accounts and then selected default folders for calendar and contacts in the pane next to the account list. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the help.
