How do you remove a Gmail Account off of my eM Client

How do I remove a Gmail Account off of my eM Client? I also have another account on my eM Client that I want to keep on there. It’s just made it more confusing with more folders and to keep track of what’s what. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

To remove any account from the desktop, click “Menu / Accounts”. Then “click / highlight the account you want to remove on the left”, and then click the “Remove”’ button along the top.

I believe you (or others) have said elsewhere that this will remove the account, but will not remove the local files, which will (presumaby) remain where they are, but in an inert state. Correct?
There must be some way to both remove the account AND remove the local files to some external location… say to an external USB drive. Your assistance is appreciated!

Local Folders are part of the overall mail database. If you want to remove and store local folder emails on your harddisk, there is two ways.

1). You can either go to “Menu / File / Export” and export local folder messages to .eml files and select any folder on your internal or external hard-disk to put the messages in.

2). Or you can manually “create a folder on any of your internal or external hard-disks”, and then “drag messages” outside of eM Client into that folder.

Eml messages can then later if you want, either be reimported into eM Client Local folders or any other account folders, via “Menu / File / Import” or by just “dragging them back into where you want”.
