How do you contact help?!

I am unable to install a back up and need to be able to email the text to support - but cannot find anywhere an email address to contact support?!

If you are an eM Client Pro paid user you can lodge a support ticket via the following page for VIP help - Support | Remote Assistance | License Manager | eM Client

If you are using a free eM Client version you can post your question or problem here on this free forum thread and someone might be able to assist / help you with installing a backup.

If you have a PRO license , it includes support for the 1st year. Thereafter you have to purchase VIP support or use this forum.

Before your computer crashed, did you previously create a Backup in eM Client via the “Menu / Backup” option and copy that to an external drive or a cloud backup for safe keeping ?

If you did copy that eM Client file to the same backup location as before the crash, and then restore that via “Menu / File / Restore” in eM Client.

For Windows the default eM Client backup location would have been in your case - C:\Users\Sarah\Documents\eM Client.

If you didn’t have an eM Client backup, if you have an IMAP, Exchange or iCloud account (non POP) and nothing saved in local folders at the bottom left of eM Client, then you can just re-add your email accounts as new and all your previous mail will come back from the remote server.

Hi, unfortunately I had to have a new pc…the chap who moved things over for me did a back up in a zipped file, but when I try to import it it says there are no emclient files in there (even though there are)!

It was a pop account so I’m afraid the emails are now lost…

“Import”? Or “Restore

Also, I am not sure it is necessary for eM/C’s restore function to work, but I’d make sure the backup file(s) you are trying to restore are available in the standard folder @cyberzork called out above…that would mean extracting them from the Zip file you were provided. (note: backup files are also in a zip format, at least in my version 8.2, so you would be extracting/moving a zip file from inside a zip file).

Hi, I’ve tried import and restore. OK thanks I will go and have a look at the file as I’m sure it’s zipped. Thank you for you help

If you have a restored the Roaming\eM Client hidden folder ok it will look something like the following:-

I you have the eM Client file from the old pc Documents\eM Client folder it will look something like the following when opened:-
