How do I uninstall all associated files?

I want to uninstall eM Client and get rid of all the associated files because I have some errors I can’t get rid of. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the files?

Good evening. Before you decide to uninstall eM Client, it would be beneficial to solve these “mistakes”! Kind regards.

Good evening. It would be interesting for everyone to develop these “mistakes” that you can not get rid! Although cordially.

Hi Gary,
I’m sorry that you are unhappy with eM Client, best way to uninstall eM Client is to use the built-in uninstaller that you can access by right-clicking the app in your windows start menu or metro and choosing to uninstall.
If you’d want me to help you with solving your eM Client errors instead, I’d be glad to assist you, if you copy the error message content for me here and tell me which version of eM Client are you currently running (Help > About section).

Best regards,
Olivia

That does not answer the question though. I too want to know how to do a total uninstall.

I’m evaluating the product and when I reinstall, it still has all my settings. I DO NOT want that, I want a clean install. Part of my evaluation is also getting answers to specific questions from support.

Gary, the only way I found that works is a three step process that involves editing your registry. If you are not familiar with registry editing, please get someone who is, to help you as a mistake can have serious consequences.

  1. Uninstall the program _ control panel > programs > uninstall a program > em client _.
  2. Go into file explorer and do a search in all of C: drive for _ “em client” _ (including the quotation marks), then delete every instance found.
  3. Run your registry editor (regedit) and do a search for every instance of _ em client _ (no quotation marks), deleting every instance found. Then close registry editor.

You should then be able to do a clean install, no reboot required.

PS: I realise that you in fact know at least one or more of these steps but I’m posting for all user levels. I hope this helps you, it allowed me to do a clean install to check a bug.

tried clearing all entries from the registry. Additionally, found no remaining folders to delete, rebooted, reinstalled, and all my account settings are already setup, and files are in the outbox. I don’t know what i missed. Can you provide any more detail on how to remove this software from my pc?

Hi Corey,
the simple uninstall removes the program, what stayed in your computer is your database (which contains your local data and settings).
Your database is located in C:\Users\your windows user account\AppData\Roaming\eM Client
