How do I set a root folder for an IMAP server?

At my workplace, it’s common practice to create a mail folder in each user’s Unix home directory for their mail. This is how we do it, and in e-mail clients that support a setting called “root directory” or something similar, this is easily resolved.

Does eM support root directories? If not, why not? As interested as I am in trying out eM client, it’s useless to me without support for root folders.

Hi,
I am sorry - this is not possible at the moment but I will ask our developers and will inform you if they decide to implement this feature in the near future.

Thank you for your reply. I hope the feature is added someday!

I would like to see this feature as well. I’m currently setting up dovecot with a virtual user and need a way to set each email account to distinguish between domain name specific subfolders.

Hi, unfortunately this feature is not supported, if you’d like to see the feature, you can request it using an idea topic and let other users vote on the feature.

Thank you,
Paul.
