how do I import a .csv contacts file ?

There does not appear to be a method to import my contacts .csv file. The import during the install process didn’t get all the info.

Hi Ron, you should be able to import your contacts from a selected CSV file by using the built-in import feature available in File > Import > Import contacts from .csv file.

Use this option and navigate to your file, resolve the columns details and import your data.

Hope this helps,
Paul

Thanks Paul, Apparently I looked everywhere except the file button. The contacts were imported and edited. All went well but I am curious as to why I can import a .csv file but my only choice for exporting my contacts is a .vcf file. My next job is going to be figuring out how to completely back this program up. I want to avoid the Windows Live Mail fiasco that brought me to emclient.

Hi again Ron, as CSV export uses your columns configuration, you can only export data to a CSV file from one of the list view, e.g. navigate to your contacts folder, select one of the list views and edit the columns you want to display (i.e. export).

After you do so, select the contacts you want to export and right click the selection. Select export > Export to CSV.

You can also create a complete backup of your database folder by navigating to File > Backup, this will create a single backup of your database folder and save it to a selected folder, specified in Tools > Settings > General > Backup.

Hope this helps,
Paul
